Lynette S. Andersen was admitted to the California State Bar Association in 1993.  Family law cases (dissolution of marriage, paternity actions, custody, child and spousal support, step-parent adoptions, and defending termination of parental rights) dominate her practice, but she also appears regularly in adoptions and in probate court on guardianship matters.

In her capacity as court-appointed counsel for children in Sacramento County family law matters, Ms. Andersen gained a perspective that most family law attorneys do not have.  Her focus on "the best interests of the child" in custody matters is paramount, believing that advocating for  the "best interests of the chlid" is not only consistent with, but essential to, vigorous advocacy of a parent or caregiver.

With an eye toward pragmatic, affordable representation, Ms. Andersen provides compassionate, straightforward, and practical advice designed to help you make informed decisions best suited to your unique circumstances.  She appreciates that family law and guardianship proceedings are unfamiliar and intimidating experiences, often forcing most people into emotionally and financially vulerable positions.  She believes among the most helpful services an attorney provides is assisting in the development of realistic goals and strategies, offering peace of mind by debunking the other party's threats and evaluating whether proposals for settlement are really in your best interest.

Ms. Andersen received her Bachelor of Science degree  in Business Adminstration, with a concentration in  Real Estate and Land Use and a minor in Environmental Studies in 1989.  Prior to graduating from CSUS, Ms. Andersen worked for Pacific Bell (formerly Pactific Telephone) as a business service representative and in other customer service positions.   While working for Pacific Bell, Ms. Andersen attended the University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law at night.   At McGeorge, she participated in a clinical program, Community Legal Services, where family law became her passion.
